The story
Penam in Jubilee Hills keeps the menu limited on purpose: village-style dosa, pungaralu, and a chutney game that does the heavy lifting. It is not trying to be every South Indian dish at once.
The dosa tastes close to how it comes out at home, simple and honest. Pungaralu land the same way. What makes the table special is the chutney. Even with a short menu, that chutney alone puts Penam among the best small tiffin stops I have tried.
What to order
Homestyle dosa, done simply, with chutney good enough to make a limited menu feel complete.
- Dosa, Kinda like homemade. Simple, done right.
- Pungaralu, Same vibe as the dosa: simple, honest, and the chutney lifts it.
- Chutney, The reason to come. Limited menu, outstanding chutney.
Tried the dosa and pungaralu here. Both feel like home cooking, nothing fancy, and the chutney is too good. Menu is limited, but that chutney makes Penam one of the best small tiffin spots.Shiva · Mapping HYD
